St. Peter’s Church, Ashford

Ashford is a  small village - only 359 acres, with about 110 households. Because we have no shop or pub in the village, we try to be the centre of village life, and maintain the Church Hall for the benefit of the community.

St. Peter’s is a daughter church of St. Mary’s, Pilton. We have a service every Sunday at 9.00 a.m except for the second Sunday in each month, when we hold an informal lay-led morning worship commencing at 10.30am, which is popular with those who find an early start difficult. We also hold occasional special evening services, and sometimese join with Pilton - see the parish magazine or look at our noticeboard at the bottom of the churchyard where the road forks.

We are a  friendly congregation, and we make every effort to welcome newcomers, and to visit anyone unwell, or on their own.

We enjoy being a part of the various village groups including the Knitting Group, Cycle Group, Gardening Group and use the Phone Box Library.

St. Peter’s is popular for weddings (up to 100 guests), and funerals, and our churchyard is open for burials, and interments of ashes.

We welcome families and children at all our services,.
